The tree-like things growing out of his hair are a very nice addition because they give it an otherworldly or unnatural feel- how often is it when you see such things in a picture? The pink color is very striking. Gives it an extraordinary feel too. What appears to be blood coming out of the poor child's eye is a nice touch, though I suspect it could be whatever substance is covering him. All together, a very well done picture.
